Elena's hut on the Aconcagua

Dear Contributors,
four months elapsed since the start of the fund raising operation and we
nearly reached the 20,000 USD amount we initially set as our goal. With such
amount we hope to be able to build a mountain hut dedicated to Elena on the
mountainside of Aconcagua.
Meanwhile the Argentinian Associations of Mountain Guides began to propose
solutions and to outline projects. Presently, we are evaluating these
projects to select the most suitable ones.
Anybody willing to submit suggestions and proposals is invited to contact
us.
We think that submission and selection of the projects will be concluded by
the next month of July. At the same time fund raising will also be stopped
and the collected sum will be transferred to the Italian Consulate in
Mendoza that is disposed to care for the various steps required for building
the mountain hut.
We are grateful for your sensitivity and generosity. We are certain that
this achievement will conform to the spirit and to the memory of our dearly
beloved Elena.

FUND RAISING OPERATION
we decided to offer a first aid structure to be built on Aconcagua at a high altitude, to help mountain climbers in difficulty.
This will be a light hut with some basic health and survival aids and with an autonomous electric generator,
that will be used by the guides of the
Aconcagua Park. We hope that in the future
some human lives will be saved in this way.
The Mendoza local press, that knew the idea in some not official way, already talked about a “mountain refuge”,
